Pods

I am attracted to natural forms which seem other-wordly, and the chestnut pod is a perfect example. The basic form is a spiked outer casing protecting an empty shell of fruit spent long ago. Through the contrast of the interior and exterior layers, observations about the world around us can be made or concerns expressed.  - M.L.

These are the Do Not Touch! pods. All three share a yin-and-yang quality where two opposites are irrevocably connected to form the Whole. Cuddles and Remedy comment on the strictly human issues of protectionist isolationism and medicine respectively. Game turns the "sport" of hunting inside-out, with bullets shielding a soft, furry interior.

Turf is usually displayed mouth-down instead of on its side, almost like a bush. Its natural exterior of leafless twigs is stark and barren, which contrasts to the green and lush Astroturf underbelly. Turf questions whether this type of artificial beautification comes at the expense of our natural environment.
