Natural Defenses
These works all share a common theme of armor. The natural coatings on the helmets speak of the military-style vigilance needed for environmental protectionism. They are offshoots of the work done for the Sentries installation.

Hive is an earlier work which is softer in tone and message. Evolution has produced an organism melded from plant and animal ancestry. When the metamorphosis is complete, what will emerge…? It is one of my favorite pieces and served as a foundation for the pod series. - M.L.
